My name is Jamie. I’m a 25 year old magazine journalist (NCTJ) from London. (I qualify end of May 2022.)
Life is too short to be tamed and journalism is too important to be careful. Sometimes you have to take risks. Sometimes you have to be ruthless. Sometimes you have to just say it how it is. Always you have to tell the truth.
I am qualified in media law so I am well adept to defending myself against accusations of defamation or slander and everything else that my articles bring flying my way.
Coming from a novel writing, poetic and spoken word background, where words are like musical notes, my writing style is more on par with a publication such as THE FACE, rather than a publication such as the FINANCIAL TIMES.
I have a keen interest in society, equality and mental health.
I am qualified in Essential Journalism, Magazine Journalism (In May), Ethics and Regulation for News and Magazine, Media Law, Court Reporting, Public Affairs (Politics), and Editing (In May.)
I am currently finishing my final exams and working on my 10 piece portfolio, which I will upload to this blog. I am looking for a career at a publication which I feel matches my talents, my passions and my goals.
